Decide what you want from her and expect from her and then sit her down and tell her in a calm, compassionate tone of voice. Make her a cup of hot tea, coffee, cocoa, or whatever while you're talking so that you'll have her seated and she'll be more likely to not storm out if she feels offended. Using the compassionate tone will also help so that you don't seem like someone trying to run her life. Yeah, she's screwing up big time but the purpose of the talk is to make things better for her daughter and for you.

Keep your goals in mind. For example, tell her that you're concerned that her daughter hasn't seen her very much lately. Ask her about her living situation. See if she is looking for work and ask her what she wants to do for a living so that you can see if you know somewhere for her to look. Ask if she's looking forward to the new baby. Generally, talk to her like she's a person so that you take your own feelings out of the equation then she won't be able to say that she's not around for her daughter because you dislike her and so that she can start to work toward her other goals. Each time you see her, ask her about the things you talked about - like, ';How's the job hunt going?'; or whatever. It will help her to keep those goals in mind. The better the ex is doing, the better your life will be.HOW TO DEAL WITH MY BOYFRIENDS EX WIFE?
I have to deal with an ex wife also. My best advice is to not deal with her, dont get involved with her if you dont have to. It usually causes more problems. Your BF should be the one that deals with her. Just do the best you can for the childs sake. The little girl is the one that will have to deal with more of her mom when she gets older.

I find good advice at the group below.
If you can't control yourself around her avoid talking to her or being in the room with her. Tell you bf from now on you will not deal with this woman and he should do the talking to her. You can never say anything negative about her in front of her child. You must always behave civilly towards her. In the end how she chooses to live her life is not your business.
You have no reason to ';deal'; with her at all.

Let your boyfriend man up and ';deal'; with her. What she does is none of your business.
I don't think i'd be able to answer your question properly because i've never dealt with it before. However you seem like you really need an answer so i'd say the only place that would really help you is dating reform. It's a site I use where anyone from anywhere in the world that went through the same experiences/problems as you're going through and had the same questions that you had are able to post their own advice on the topic for other people such as yourself to read. I believe they're even running a contest where whoever posts the most advice and helps the most people earns themselves $500. So you should be able to get some decent help. Check it out hopefully it'll help you with your current questions and any others that you might need help with. The site again is datingreform.c o m

  • How to deal with my boyfriends family?

We recently came to Omaha for a Thanksgiving get away and we're staying at one of my boyfriends aunt's house. We were watching tv last nite on SEPERATE couches and I dosed off, I was awakend at 1:30 in the morning by his aunt telling me I couldn't sleep in the same room as him which I understood before we got here...but like i said I dosed off. So this morning I came into the basement where he was sleeping and was watching tv quietly, but then his parents and his aunt came down and were like do you think thats fair for domonique to be sleeping and for you to come turn on the tv. Mind you i turned the tv on at 8:00 a.m. and he didnt wake up til damn near 11...he told me it didnt bother him but to his family i was interrupting his sleep. How should I deal with these overbearing people that are in my boyfriends family? How to deal with my boyfriends family?
hiya, for a start i think you will find that they don't like you.you are not the girl for him, that is what the family are thinking.hold your head high,do what you normally do,but smile sweet at them ,they will be glad when you go home.i should think you will as well.no girl is good enough for some mum's or her family.don't let them shame you or run over you, stand your ground.xxHow to deal with my boyfriends family?
Just ignore them. Its one weekend + they sound like they are a little old school. Dont sweat it.
ask your boy freind to have a talk with them, but only if it gets really unbearable. until then,,, grin and bare it. its tough, but it will be over soon

How can i deal with my boyfriends bad parenting, we dont have kids together but he has kids from a past relati?

how can i deal with my boyfriends bad parenting, we dont have kids together but he has kids from a past relationship, he never thinks they do anything wrong, and they r the worlds rudest kids i have ever seen. he never corrects them, and he thinks they are always right. i really cant deal with this it is starting to tare us apart, and i love this man and i do want to be with him, but im sick and tired of seeing, listening, smelling, hearing , and dealing with his rude *** kids.. is there anything that will help me with this issue, or should i just break it off completely? How can i deal with my boyfriends bad parenting, we dont have kids together but he has kids from a past relati?
They are his kids and they mean the world to him so it is unlikely that anything you say will be taken to heart. He won't believe you so I would say try to live with it if you can but if you can't then leave and find someone new.How can i deal with my boyfriends bad parenting, we dont have kids together but he has kids from a past relati?
There's absolutely nothing you can do to change his parenting style. I want you to imagine how your life would be if you have a child of your own and his children to deal with. They won't get any better, in fact normal teenagers sometimes turn into little monsters, and your life will be hell (been there). Your love for him will turn into dislike, etc. So think this relationship through carefully and consider moving on. Good Luck.
Move on. He's a father and they're his first responsibility. You can't force him to choose between you and them and really you have no right to interfere as they are not your kids. Mostly likely he will not listen to nor appreciate your parenting advice, esp if you don't have kids. You can try if you want to but you should prepare yourself for moving on.
First off........I feel very sorry for the badly trained kids.....they are the victims here......not you or him!

If they are his kids and he thinks they're perfect....not much you can do even though the kids are getting the dirty end of the stick here. Kids need and should have good training and upbringing, otherwise, they are the VICTIMS of dysfunctional parenting.

I'd call CPS on him and/or just get out since you can't do anything about it for now.

If you try to help his kids with adequate training, he will just undermine you anyway.........
I hate to say this but, you need to let him go. This will be a battle you will never win. Those are his kids. He will never see what you see. He will never correct them and you will always look like the bad guy. Walk away while you can. Good luck!
Yikes. THere really is nothing that will help you here... so leave asap!! Just think... you don't want this man to be the father of YOUR children do you??? No way.
The situation is not going to change and they are a package deal. Decisions, decisions...
he isn't likely to change, so you sure don't want to be the mother of his kids. get out of there.
record or video tape them when they are at their ';best'; and play it for him
Well it would understandably tear you apart and should. Two opposing parenting styles in a blended family would be a DISASTER and if you know and see this NOW before you consider marrying him then you still have time to get out!

Chances are he won't suddenly become a different sort of father and he'll be a similar parent if you two hard kids together too. Being compatable in this area is very important and you are lucky enough to see first hand the TYPE of parent he is. Most of us don't get to see that in advance. You can't change him now - so you decide your options.

How Do I deal With My Boyfriends Ex?

Ok well long story short YEARS ago she stole me boyfriend away and whatever i dont hate her or have nothing but thanks to say to her anyways I met this guy we've been together for almost a year now and his ex Just happend to be that same girl that took my boyfriend years ago BUT they have a kid together So shes around for a while! Shes nice to my face but when i'm not around she talks all kinds of sh*t and trys to get him to sleep with her. It bothers me but i never let her see it Any Ideas on how to deal with this? How Do I deal With My Boyfriends Ex?
You can try meeting her yourself to bring her child to her, with out him. or you can have him bring you everytime there is an exchange or you can brin gin a third party like grandparent or someone to do the kid exchange other than that she should not need to see him face to face.

good luck and above all ignore her rude comments she is just jelous of what she cant have

How do I deal with my boyfriends ex?

Im in a really awkward situation...

My boyfriend of a year and a half has this ex girlfriend. She was his first girlfriend and they were together for 4 years. This was along time ago, back when he was my age (Im 22, he is 30). Anyway she cheated on him and that is why they broke up.

The thing is she is bestfriends with my boyfriends 2 cousins (cousins are brother and sister). The brother cousin is gay and the sister is lesbian...and my boyfriends ex is Bi...so its wierd, I mean what if she dates one of them?

Anyway besides this, needless to say she is always at family functions that include that part of the family, which is wierd because she is like 28 and shouldnt be tagging along to her friends' family functions of friends at that age! To make it even wierder she HATES me because she is now and has been dating one of my exes on and off for along time now!! She got very jelous and just dispises me to no end. Anyway, how do I deal with this? We have never spoken to one another, but I get VERY uneasy when I see her at a get together of MY boyfriends family!! I feel like she will be there forever if I ever marry this man in the future...ugh...and the thing I hate most, I feel like his cousins and his aunt and uncle (his parents) and all them hate me, because she HAS talked so much sh*t about me around all of them, and she doesnt even know me or have room to talk, at least Im not the one that cheated on my boyfriend! Im very scared Im getting into a lifelong mess and dont know what to doHow do I deal with my boyfriends ex?
Just be mature and above all that drama. She's the one that's got a problem. So you just got to forget about her. When you're at a family function and she's there, just ignore her, don't think about her. If you come face-2-face w/her, then just smile and say hello and move on. Don't create drama for yourself. How do I deal with my boyfriends ex?
Forget all the drama!!! Just talk to her like anyone else. You are the one dating the boyfriend, who cares who she is dating or with whom she is partying. Quit letting the idea of this girl ruin your life, just live your own.
Ignor her, unless she becomes dangerous.
It sounds like one of those situations where the sting will only be there if it comes from your bf. He needs to sit her down, or call her and tell her to stop the childish behavior, that he's with you, and if she doesn't like it, tough titty.

I had a bf who had an ex who he dated for a long time before he broke up with her, and she was always trying to hang around, asking if we were still together, etc. he finally had to put his foot down and say that they couldn't be even friends anymore.

How do i deal with my boyfriends x wife?

My boyfriends x wife is driving me nuts!!! As soon as my boyfriend and i got together her family and her started carrying on and would never leave us alone. They have 2 children together so he cannot cut ties with her which is fine! I just wish she would stop being such a looney. Eg. I was not allowed to meet their childre until she said it was ok ohterwise he could not see the children. Which was also fine but she introduced the boys to her bf of only 2 months when i had been with my boyfriend for about 7 8 months and still had not met him as it was a way of still controlling hi. The night he left she said to him your going to pay for this for the rest of your life. After months and months of her lettig him see his boys to not letting him because he didnt do as she asked Eg paying her car repayments even tho they were not together she works gets child support n centrelink benefits. The only reason we see the children now is because we took her to court n got court ordes. Her family follow us around driving, in shopping centres EVERYWHERE but tell ppl its us doin it to them. Her n her family write abusive things about me on the internet its like ses trying to compete with me! My boyfriend and i now have a 3 month old osn and sometimes her children hit him n hurt him and say its beause mummy said to hurt him. It used to be worse with them doing it to me coz she said so n also calling me a ***** n we hate u coz she also said so. They realise now most times im noce and they like me so its starting to stop! She now is pregant with another mans baby and using my boyfriends surname for the baby and she is no longer with the new babies father. I could understand if she wants th children to have th sam name but she flaunts it n is a smart **** to us about it which makes me think she really is doin it jus to piss us off! I could go on with more stuff they do but its just ridiculous. I need tips on how to deal pls!!!! I dont wan to hav to put up with her doin this to me anymore as its not between her n i it should be between my bf n her kids... HELP!!!How do i deal with my boyfriends x wife?
If you are smart you dump him and you do it now. Why do you what to put your self in this position?

How do i deal with my boyfriends x wife?
Your message is nothing but a display of complete immaturity. You just ramble on %26amp; on %26amp; on. You can't even be bothered to spell a complete word.
One of my rules of dating....NEVER I mean NEVER date a guy who has children with someone else. They come with the package so there is nothing you can do exept dump him and find a ';never been married'; guy.

You seem to have a pretty low self esteem if this is the kind of guy you want to date. sorry, but you need to respect yourself and dump this guy. Thats alot of baggage you dont need.......unless you want it.
Seems like your boyfriend's ex is more of a problem for him to deal with than it is for you.

The children are not yours. And she is not your ex. Which means that it shouldn't be that difficult for you to ignore her and her family.

Of course, the ex is a big problem for your boyfriend. But there is not much you can do about that. This is his problem and not yours.
    How do you handle this?

Don't stoop to her level, and act like a lady.

His ex wife gets child support because it's the law -- the absent parent is to pay child support, and it is calculated the same way for everyone through the courts. If she receives extra benefits from the state or government, i'm assuming it's because her income is low enough to get these benefits. She's had to disclose her incomes, and the state and government can find out easily about her income and child support.. they have data bases and get this information before giving state aid..

His kids are not your kids, so you aren't the person who needs to be disciplining them while they visit your home. That is your husband's responsibility, and he needs to make sure the kids behave. And get some therapy/help if they need it (sure sounds like they do).

His ex is causing chaos because you're letting her. She's a bitter person. Don't play into it. You have your own life. Live it.

Wow, I feel really bad for you and for your situation. It sounds like boundaries need to be defined. Your boyfriend should set boundaries and follow through with them. She doesn't respect your boyfriend or you, so she oversteps your boundaries. You can check out this book: Boundaries by Henry Cloud. Maybe it can give you some insight on boundaries and learn a few tactics to control your situation with the ex.

Don't ever STOOP to her level. Treat her with respect (no matter how mad she makes you), treat her with love and kindness. That way, there is nothing she can use against you. What can she say? Live your life as a good example and if she chooses to write bad stuff or whatever, your real family and friends will know the true you and not listen that kind of stuff.

    Hope that helps.
Frankly I would ignore her and her family. You don't need to have anything to do with them they are nothing to you.

Now your bf is another story he needs to realize that this is his responsibility to take care of. I suggest he contact a lawyer and find out what his options are. Realize that she can't legally keep him from seeing his children this is not her power. So he doesn't need to put up with any of her crap or pay anything other then child support in order to see his children unless it is court ordered.

you could have taken her to court for all the stuff she is doing this is not right. you can prove most of it and she cna't stop visitation he isn't taking it to court she can't do it. he does not have to pay nothing to her but support and do it only he does not have to deal with her to much if he does not want to hurting your son hey i am wondering how this is happening but youc an call police make prepots and get them into trouble there are so many things you can do and not put up with it but i would suggest you mvoe and move now get a new place out of state and then get visitation changed to having them in summer or stuff like that you can do it. and be better of with out them around.
